Degree & Graduation Residency Requirements

A candidate for the Baccalaureate degree from Albany State University must satisfy the following requirements:

  1. Complete a prescribed curriculum.
  2. Complete a minimum of 120 semester hours, plus any first-year and wellness course requirements outside the core, with a grade point average of 2.00 (C-average) or the major requirement.
  3. Earn at least 25 percent of the credit hours required for a baccalaureate degree at Albany State University, which includes at least 21 hours of 3000-4000 level courses in the major.
  4. Take an exit examination or major area examination, as required by the major.

A candidate for the Associate degree from Albany State University must satisfy the following requirements:

  1. Complete a prescribed curriculum.
  2. Complete a minimum of 60 semester hours, plus any first-year and wellness course requirements outside the core, with a grade point average of 2.00 (C-average) or the departmental requirement.
  3. Complete at least 25% of the total hours in the program of study at Albany State University.
