PEDH 1008. Progressive Resistance Exersize. (1 Credit)

A planned fitness training program to increase muscular strength and tone through a planned progressive series of exercises performed on the weight machine and other apparatus.

PEDH 1129. Track and Field. (1 Credit)

This course is a Physical Education elective course designed to introduce the student to the fundamentals of track and field and proper training techniques. Students will learn the history of track and field, proper equipment use, techniques, rules, terminology, scoring, and strategies. Prerequisite: None. Corequisite: None. Offered: Fall and Spring.

PEDH 1138. Hip Hop. (1 Credit)

Hip Hop is a dance style, mainly street dance styles, dance to hip hop music, or that have evolved as a part of the hip hop culture. The first and original dance associated with hip hop is breakdance. Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: None. Offered: Every semester.

PEDH 1141. Folk and Square Dance. (1 Credit)

Introduction to the basic steps and figures of square dancing as well as the various steps and music to folk dancing and line dancing. Prerequisite: None. Offered: On demand.

PEDH 1160. Water Safety Instructor. (2 Credits)

Instructional concepts in swimming are provided leading to American Red Cross Certification. Instructor's approval based on American Red Cross prerequisite. Prerequisite: PEDH 1150.

PEDH 2010. Intermediate Yoga. (1 Credit)

A study of th ecomponents of a personal yoga practice which enhances competence of basic postures and emphasizes breathing and meditation techniques that contribute to the benefit of yoga practice.

PEDH 2232. Social Dances. (1 Credit)

An introduction to the various forms of ballroom dancing and dance etiquette. Investigation of the principles of body control and specific dance techniques, choreography, musical instruments of accompaniment and recital production.

PEDH 2280. Software in HPER. (2 Credits)

Software applications in physical fitness, health, reference material, body composition analysis, tests and measurements, human performance and sports/team statistics. Prerequisite: EDUC 2210.

PEDH 2289. Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries. (2 Credits)

Injury prevention is stressed as well as the use of proper equipment to decrease the risk of injury using wraps, tapes and bandages for weak joint and other injured body parts. Prerequisite: HEDP 2267 and HEDP 2450.

PEDH 3384. Adapted Physical Education and Diversity in Classroom. (3 Credits)

Consideration is given to the various forms of physical activities whereby full services can be rendered to individuals who, because of physical and mental disabilities, are unable to participate in regular activities. Laboratory experiences are included.

PEDH 4480. Major Seminar & Practice. (1 Credit)

Organization and management of class instruction and group supervision. The student gains experience through service classes and the laboratory school under the supervision of the teaching staff of the physical education department.

PEDH 4481. Major Seminar & Practice. (1 Credit)

Organization and management of class instruction and group supervision. The student gains experience through service classes and the laboratory school under the supervision of the teaching staff of the physical education department.

PEDH 4490. Organization and Administration of Health and Physical Education. (3 Credits)

Effective procedure in instruction, organization, administration and supervision of physical education in relation to the whole school program.
