Special Education Minor

The Minor in Special Education offers students an understanding of core educational theory and praxis without declaring a full major in special education. The minor DOES NOT lead to a clear renewable T-4 certificate in special education. Only students admitted to the teacher preparation program can add this minor to their degree program. 

Requirements for Admission to the Minor

Meet all requirements for Admission to Teacher Education:

  • Completion of Core with no less than a grade of “C” in ENGL 1101 and ENGL 1102
  • Successful completion of EDUC 2110, 2120, and 2130
  • Grade point average of 2.50 or better
  • Successful completion of the GACE Ethics entry Test
  • Successful possession of pre-service certificate
