Full Time Status

A graduate student is considered a "full-time" student for the fall and spring semesters when they are enrolled in nine semester hours. For summer semester a student is considered "full-time" with six semester hours. Students who have completed course requirements and are enrolled for thesis hours, are also considered "full-time." Exceptions to this policy are made on a case-by-case basis with final determination made by the Dean of the Graduate School. Students wanting to apply for an exception should submit formal written documentation to Albany State University’s Graduate School indicating how the student is engaged in full-time academic work while not taking either nine (9) semester hours during the fall and spring, six (6) semester hours during the summer, or registered for three thesis hours.
